The cool, mint green of Earle Davenport’s 1958 Ford Fairlane — white, retractable hard top raised Saturday in Uptown — had necks turning and eyes gazing.
Standing beside it, Davenport’s 18-year-old grandson, Ross Cooper proudly remembered his grandfather’s love for the car. It’s tidier now than it used to be; Davenport used to keep all sorts of tools and items in the trunk, just in case something came up.
When Davenport died in January 2016, his wife, Janis, gave Ross the responsibility and privilege of caring for Davenport’s cars and driving them.
